Description: Welcome to The Bishop's House, a comfortable 4-star hotel in the historical city center of Prague (Lesser Town), near the famous Charles Bridge. Behind the Empire facade, the guests of our hotel can enjoy both modern comfort and a genuine historical atmosphere. History of The Hotel The history of The Bishop's House dates back to the Roman times, when during the 12th century, a powerful bishop, Prince Jindrich Bretislav, had a vast court built on the left side of the river Vltava. His successors had the court extended and rebuilt several times, until in 1419, the court was burned down during the revolution. A house was re-built on the ruins during the 16th century and it has gained its contemporary shape in 1843. It functions as a hotel since 1999, following a full re-construction. Accommodation We offer comfortable double and triple rooms. The rooms have a historical and romantic atmosphere, wooden furniture, bathroom with bathtub or shower, hairdryer, minibar, safe, telephone, satellite-TV, cable Internet connection. The rooms on the top floor provide a wonderful view of the Prague Castle and the Lesser Town roof-tops. The Bishop's House abides to all European Union safety and fire protection standards. Breakfast is served in the restaurant between 7 and 10 a.m., with cold and hot meals. Upon request, we serve breakfast in the room. Services We have a 24-hour reception desk with multi-lingual staff, where we can help you purchase entrance tickets, register for sightseeing tours, etc. There is a secure parking lot near the hotel. We park your car there and bring it back any time you need it (there is a fee for this service). We also have a restaurant with 25 seats, serving both international and Czech cuisine. We organize transfers between the hotel and the airport, or the railway stations. Transportation Nearby Trams 12 and 22 stop near the hotel (station Malostranske namesti). If you are taking the metro, get on line A (green) and get off at station Malostranska. From here, take trams 12 or 22 for one stop, to station Malostranske namesti.
